From Corporate America To World Cup Qualifiers With Afghanistan

So many of us dream about becoming a pro athlete when we’re young… and those of us with the passion, vision and hustle often make it to the collegiate level.

It’s at the collegiate level where many of us decide if we’re serious about playing pro or we’re going to focus on our career, business, or some other mission.

Ahmad Arash Hatifie was one of these guys…until a chance opportunity came through and he was invited to tryout for the Afghanistan National Soccer Team.

Afghanistan being his motherland and knowing the state of crisis it’s been in for the past few decades…his heart was in it to do whatever he could to support and uplift the people.

He took this energy forward and performed very well in the tryout and went on to play as the center midfielder…scoring a number of impressive goals and being an important playmaker on the team.

And then Ahmad came to a crossroads of making an important decision…do I leave my comfortable, well-paying corporate job for this uncertain, awesome life of playing for the National team and a professional club in India?

He took the leap of faith and has been living his dreams every day as he represents Afghanistan, his (and my) motherland country, in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. The world cup is a huge sporting event that captivates the world in front of the TV screen. If you want to see how your team will possibly do during the cup, then you can always look at FanDuel betting odds to see what potentially could happen.
